Beauty: Short-Haul Carry-On Flight Tips

Travelling short-haul, and trying to jam-pack everything into a carry-on bag when travelling on a plane - well it ain't no easy task.

Over the years, and getting copious amounts of much loved items took off me, well preparation is key, and after trying my hardest to utilise the very tiny plastic carry- on bag, I think I may have finally nailed it.

So here goes.....

Samples: I save any samples I get and put in a box. When purchasing any beauty products or perfumes online or in-store I always ask, or mooch around the site for any free samples. For me Clarins is my all time fave, and their little tubes of cleansers, moisturisers, serums and oils always last me at least 3 days.

Make-Up Palettes: I try not to take any individual items like blushers or single eye-shadows.
I limit myself to 2 palettes, one eye-shadow and one bronzer and blusher palette. I am loving this Benefit one my friends made me, with Hoola, Coralista, Rockateur and Dandelion in, they are all housed in a magnetic Z palette which is small, compact and sturdy.

The Stila palette (review here ) is always a great addition, with a good selection of eyeshadows, blushers and highlight shades. Even though powders do not have to go into the clear flight bag, it is still handy to keep things light and compact. I also always throw in the Charlotte Tilbury Chameleon eye-crayons. They are slim, lightweight and easy to use for a quick day-to-night eye look.

Free gifts with purchase: When beauty brands offer free gifts with purchase I always take full advantage. The likes of Clinique and Estee Lauder always have mini-mascaras, eyeliners, lip liners and mini lipsticks in theirs, and they are so handy when travelling.

Clear flight bag: I always purchase these clear flight bags from eBay. Four of them are £3 with delivery,  it saves all the fussing at the gate.

Clear plastic bottles: I usually bring one foundation with me, with most around 30ml they are fine to go in the clear flight bag, if I feel I need options (with both skincare and beauty products) well I will decant a couple into smaller clear plastic bottles. They sell them in Boots and Superdrug.

Miscellaneous: The likes of deodorant, toothpaste, bubble bath, shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo, I buy the mini's once through airport security in Boots. They do 3 for around £5 and it saves lugging around big bottles and tubes.
