My lovely friend Stacey sent me the Kat Von D Tattoo Liner as part of my birthday gift back in August, and I was super excited to try. The hype around it, and reviews I had read were all top-notch, and I was so happy to finally own it.
I had been using it for around 2 months, and it was starting to feel dry - so I was very grateful when Debenhams sent me another one to try. I love Debenhams so much, I like that you can earn points on all your beauty purchases and redeem them. I usually earn around £10-£15 a month which is always a great perk.
The Kat Von D Tattoo Liner* in shade Trooper is housed in a thin black sleek cardboard box.
The liner's packaging, is like a thin pen. When you remove the lid there is a nib that is like a felt tip pen. The nib is thicker at the bottom and it has a sharp pointy tip. This aspect makes it easier to help you achieve a precise line across the lash line, and create a flick.
I lightly hold the pen in the lid and pump the pen twice, to disperse the product onto the nib. I then start from the inner corner, working my way out to the flick. The pen is light-weight and the nib is flexible and moves across the lid with ease, and smoothly. No dragging and no streaks. The colours is black, and then some. The glossy black finish initially goes a little dull after application, but once dry it still leaves a beautiful shine.
I love that the finish is not matte. I really don't like matte liners, it can make my lash line and flick appear wrinkly and crinkly.
Yes that is possible haha!
I am pretty awful at eye-liner, I have a shaky hand, always make the line far too thick. I forget I have it on, and rub my eyes - yes I am an utter disaster when it comes to liner.
But this one, well this one, as you can imagine, it is making my life a lot easier. It ticks all the boxes for me: easy to use, super pigmented, and it does not budge.
I have dry skin, and don't use a primer on my eyes.
There are some reviews I have read that say: if you have oily skin, the liner is prone to smudge and fade. As my skin is dry as dust, I can't comment on this aspect.
Personally I will forever have this in my stash. It costs £23 and lasts around 2 months, I use it around three times a week - and for me I feel this is an investment.
