Sheet masks are so popular now, and I must admit they are my favourite type of mask.
I particularly love them after a night on the tiles, or when my skin is looking dull and dehydrated.
With one of these sheet masks costing just £1 (Garnier) and the other one £9.75 (Sarah Chapman) I thought I would compare the two, as both brands have similar claims about their masks but the price difference is pretty steep.
Both these sheet masks contain hyaluronic acid, which is well known for its spectacular hydrating properties, and they both claim to rehydrate skin, plump out fine lines and revive radiance.
Sarah Chapman 3D Moisture Infusion Mask:
This mask is claimed to be like a second skin that instantly hydrates, plumps and soothe redness.
There are four main skin concerns that 3D Moisture Masks help to combat:
- Dehydration
- Redness
- Fine Lines and Wrinkles
- Compromised Skin
The mask is easy to remove from the packaging and it sits snuggly on the face, it immediately feels soothing and comfortable. There is no strong scent, and you can flip the eye-flaps up and cover the whole eye area. This is an element I really love, as your whole eye lid is also reaping the benefits. Plus you then have to shut your eyes, and this does make the whole experience feel a lot more relaxing.
It feels like a gel mask, opposed to a cloth mask, and the mask is coated with a lot of serum. It is very, very comfortable to wear and the serum feels really lovely on the skin.
I kept it on for 25 minutes, and then removed the mask and massaged in the excess serum that was left behind.
There are a lot of pretty top notch ingredients in this serum. With hyaluronic acid, rose water, copper, zinc and magnesium, being just half of the ingredients - it is safe to say this concoction works wonders.
My skin immediately looked plumper, fine lines of my forehead were visibly reduced. My skin felt smooth, appeared smooth, and so much more hydrated. It was like I had been for a professional facial. I absolutely love this mask, and priced at under £10 it is in my opinion a bargain.
It is just a shame you can't buy them individually, as forking out £39 in one hit is a little eye-watering.

Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Mask;
This mask claims to be a hydration wrap for the face, and aims to address the same issues as the Sarah Chapman Mask.
"Super-hydrating revitalising mask for dehydrated skin. Intensely rehydrates skin, reduces the look of fine lines, and revives radiance. Enriched with pomegranate extract, hyaluronic acid, and plant serum."This mask is easy to remove from the packaging and easy to apply to the face. It feels cold, soothing and comfortable. The scent is light and not over-powering. After 15 minutes the mask was completely bone dry, and my skin had soaked in all the serum. My skin appeared more hydrated it was soft and it did look a little plumper, overall it was an enjoyable experience.
Conclusion:
There is a clear winner for me and it is the Sarah Chapman mask, it feels more luxurious and comfortable on the face and there is a lot more serum on the mask compared to the Garnier mask. I am so bowled over by how instant the results were, proving that the ingredients used are much more potent.
My skin looked so healthy, fine lines were visibly reduced and skin felt and appeared very hydrated.
I feel this mask would be particular perfect to use before a special occasion, as it leaves the skin looking so much more plumper, hydrated and smooth and I could imagine your make-up would go on like a dream.
The Garnier mask is an absolute bargain though, and for £1 there is no complaints at all.
It was a comfortable experience and left my skin looking and feeling hydrated.
I would repurchase the two, saving the Sarah Chapman mask for a special occasion, and reaching for the Garnier mask more frequently, down to its price.
Do you like sheet masks? What are your favourite ones?
Amazing comparison! I don't think I could ever bring myself to spend £10 on a one use mask, but I love that it makes such an instant result xxx
ReplyDeleteYes I was the same, £10 is such a lot but I just cant believe how amazing my skin looked after. xx
DeleteVery interesting! I am not suprised SC was a winner though (& should be for the £!) - the quality of hyaluronic and other ingredients is on a different level to Garnier x
ReplyDeleteIt really is, I am so impressed with the SC one and feel it is worth the price tag. xx
DeleteI have heard such good things about the SC skincare and would love to try her products but they are expensive, maybe I'll pop these on my birthday wishlist ;) I loved this post, it's so good to see the comparison, the Garnier are ok for a cheapy but it's nice to see immediate results xxx

I love this and the overnight facial Zo. xx
DeleteI could never spend anymore than like, £3 on a one use mask unless it was literally garunteed to transform my skin. I've tried the sarah chapman overnight facial before though and I did love it. Heard so many good things about the garnier mask, i'm doing a boots shop on wednesday so I'll be finally picking one (or five) up!

DeleteInteresting! My favourite are the Tony moly sheet masks xxx
ReplyDeleteI am dying to try them Laura. x
DeleteI love that the Sarah Chapman one has eye flaps so your lids can benefit from the serum too. I've tried the Garnier one and it's nice but I didn't think it was anything special.

I love the lid flaps so much haha. xx
DeleteNo surprises that the Sarah Chapman one is the better, but good to hear that the Garner one was also good too!
ReplyDeleteYes it is good considering how cheap it is. xx
DeleteI love sheet masks, I find them so much easier to use than regular masks! Less fuss too. I've tried the Garnier one and had good results but I'm very intrigued by the Sarah Chapman mask!

£39? Ouch! But it sound so so luxurious! Would be ideal to have at least one of these bad boys in for a special occasion and when you think about it, it is cheaper than some facials!

Saloca in Wonderland
Yes they are just perfect for a special occasion. xx
DeleteI love my Skinisis serum but it does last, I don't think I could part with £39 for 1 sheet mask! I did however pick up the Garnier mask a few weeks back and am yet to try it, so may give it a go tonight :)
