Porridge is hands down my favourite breakfast in the Winter.
I found this simple hack on Pinterest, and well I haven't looked back.
Cook the porridge in a slow cooker overnight!
Well this is utter genius.
What is better than waking up, and breakfast is there all ready and waiting?
No rooting for pans, standing over a hob, or waiting for the microwave to ping when it's done.
Talk about nailing the cold winter mornings.
This recipe was a fluke, I basically had some leftovers to use up, and chucked it all in the bowl.
The result was utter perfection
Pear & Pomegranate Winter Porridge
Ingredients:
Serves 2 People
100g rolled oats
1 tablespoon of all spice
400ml almond milk
1 tablespoon of honey
1 chopped pear
50g pomegranate seeds
1peeled pear
Method:
1) To a pan or slow cooker, add the oats, all spice, milk, pear and honey.
2) Simmer on a low heat for 5 minutes, or leave on low in a slow cooker overnight.
3) Ladle the porridge into bowls, peel a washed pear and add to the bowl, a sprinkling of pomegranate seeds and a sprinkle of all spice.
Yes it really is that easy to make, a healthy low-fat and filling breakfast - that is sure to warm you up this Winter.
Do you think you may try the slow cooker hack?
I don't normally like porridge, but even I would devour this! It looks incredible! xxx
